I am getting married on the 11th june 2010 at ayia napa @ the ampitheatre. The only time left was 11AM! I am aware that the service is quite short and am struggling for ideas to fill the time between the wedding and the reception. I havent booked a reception but dont really want it that early. any one got any ideas about what to do? I have a party of about 40 people ranging from 7 months to 70 years! I dont want people having to get ready in the morning then having to find something to do with the rest of the day and then have to get ready to go to the reception. any ideas?

Hi,
I have some ideas...
1) Book a cruise along the coastline. Make sure this can last for about 2-3 hours and include some food/drinks if you want?
2) Organise games. If everyone is involved and there are prizes at the end of each game, everyone is going to have fun.
3) Have a beach party. No harm in having two parties in one wedding day. The reception will have all the food and the wedding cake.
And are you sure that 11am is the only time available? There has to be another time available ie 4pm which you have to pay extra for. Usually any services after 1.30pm concur an additional fee.

Hi,
My friend had a similar situation with her wedding a few years ago - she hired a small yacht for a few hours and loved it. She was also staying in that area, Grecian Park I think.
Another alternative might be to buy a BBQ whilst you are over there and after the ceremony, go out and find a scenic spot and have a BBQ lunch?
Happy wedding planning!
