Hi all,
We%26#39;ve been to Cyprus many times over the last few years, as we have an apartment in Latchi. However, I am coming over on 12th April for a week with just my son, who%26#39;s 8. The weather forecast doesn%26#39;t look brilliant, so I don%26#39;t think it will be lounging around on the beach weather and the pool will also be cold.
So I%26#39;m looking for ideas for things to do. We%26#39;ve been to most of the key tourist attractions in and around paphos, including snake georges (which someone said has now closed - is this true?), paphos birdpark, mosaics, tomb of the kings and kourion.
Is the Paphos Waterpark open? And if it is, are any of the pools heated at this time of year?
Any other ideas? We will have a car, so am prepared to travel!
Thanks in advance, Jo

The waterpark should be open. I have no idea if the pools will be heated.
You can try the Bird Park.
How about horse riding?
Go to beaches...
What about George%26#39;s Fun Bus? A boat ride?

Thanks for your reply! We have been to the bird park, although it was a few years ago (maybe 4), not long after it opened. We enjoyed it, but thought it was very expensive for what was there. There were lots of birds (of course!) some giraffes and turtles, plus a children%26#39;s play area and the parrot shows. Do you know if it has grown since then?
Thanks
Jo

Donkey Sanctuary at Vouni. Followed by afternoon tea in the village.Another one is watching the swallows in Goudi, thousands of them flying to the top of the village a great sight, not witnessed by many people.
As for pools, even the heated one%26#39;s are cold, the sea is genrally warmer, unless you are indoors.

Not to sound stupid but I am not too sure what an 8 yr old is interested in nowadays and to be honest not alot going for kids of that age ( well I can%26#39;t think of any )anyway you are a better judge as to what he is interested in, tell us what he likes and maybe we will have some idea%26#39;s?
Last I heard Snake George was thinking of closing whether thats trus or not, lack of tourists I believe

He loves animals, so the donkey sanctuary sounds good - where is Vouni?
As for other things he%26#39;s interested in - well he%26#39;s just like any other 8 year old I suppose! He%26#39;d rather be doing something active, although he will %26#39;put up%26#39; with visiting historical sites with me!
Will the Cypriots be on Easter school holidays? We have a couple of friends over there with kids and I%26#39;m wondering whether I need to worry - of the kids are off he%26#39;ll be out playing all day and I can curl up on the balcony in the sun with a good book and a lovely view!

There is always the go karting track just outside Coral Bay. I%26#39;m not sure about its opening hours (if indeed it is open at this time of year) but perhaps Leica or the Cyprus Piper may be able to help you out with this?
|||
they should be opening up soon if not already, but and I mean a Big BUT, you would have to ask yourself if it has all the safety checks

I have only ever driven past so I couldn%26#39;t advise on the safety side but Kev has obviously heard things!! Perhaps others on here could provide more advice?

In paphos on the main strip there is a fun fair at the end , in all fairness this does look a little dogdy, but follow the road around the fun fair and walk up the road for about 5 mins and on your right hand side you will come to a bowling alley, i think your 8 year old son would like this (mine did)
a good tip before you go here is to look around the harbour for the maps that are left out for people to take - these had money off vouchers when i last went.
Enjoy
