freedom direct (thats my tour operator!)

by chance half an hour ago i was checking out a hotel in ibiza and read a headline saying freedom direct ceased trading!!and yes youve guessed right my flights to cyprus in september are booked through freedom direct the airline is flythomascook.com and we have the tickets as they were printed off when i paid for them in full so who knows what fiasco lies ahead as i have been there got the t-shirt last year i booked holiday for my son with seguro travel week b4 he was due to go it went bust and it took us 6months to get the money back we just got it in march!!hope nobody else reading this is on same boat as me(or should that be plane!)cant do anything till monday so no point upsetting myself over it will keep you posted

Hi Fechan,

We too booked through Freedom Direct flying in May. Our flights booked through Freedom Direct but with AVRO and they are honouring our flights, so Thomas Cook should do the same. We lost our accomodation, so have to rebook that, and I%26#39;m sure that will take ages to get the money back, but not as bad as I first thought when I read about it this morning.

cheers lilley18kent and karen1967 just to give you an update on my freedom direct situation finally got through to flythomascook after 5 days abta said i had to check with them to see if flights had been paid for and good news yes they have!!also light at the end of the tunnel hays travel have taken over freedom direct kept their staff in jobs and are getting in touch with all customers so happy days
