Yianna Marie.

Booking our wedding reception here. Has anyone had there reception there, could you leave me a review. Or perhaps someone could recommend somewhere close to Rising star hotel as this is where we are staying.

Thanks.

Depends what you want, the Yianne Marie is a nice location but when we had a meal last year it was nothing special, not sure if the reception food would be any different. Its only my opinion but i have been going to protaras for the last ten years and the Corner Restaurant takes some beating, although it about 15 mins walk from the Rising Star. im sure other people will have other suggestions

Thanks Cherub. I have their wedding menus and they are different to what was on normal menus last year. I was wanting something a bit near to where we are staying as other family members are travelling from different resorts and I wanted least hastle of arranging transport. I did fancy Oscars, but it%26#39;s a bit of a walk in a wedding dress!!!!

Im sure you will be fine, and at least its only over the road from rising star

my friend had her reception there in Sept 2006. The staff were very helpful and set everything up for her, placecards, decorated the tables etc. The food imo was just ok, nothing really special but totally edible (if that makes sense!) Everyone seemed pleased enough. There is a lovely view as they set the tables up overlooking the sea and my friend got some good photos down on the beach there. They catered for the children that were there too. HTH

Her wedding ceremony was in Golden Coast in the wee church there.

Thanks for that, I chose it because it%26#39;s close to rising star for getting chnaged etc and for the views overlooking the sea.

do you know what they charged for setting the tables up, I would like some balloons, I have my own flowers and favours. Do you have any pics? PM me and I%26#39;ll give you my e-mail.

Thanks,

Cazz.

there is a lovely restaurant just up from rising star called Astoria the owner chris is usually outside with his parrot

Yes but it doesn%26#39;t have the views! and I still don%26#39;t fancy walking all that way in my wedding dress. (-:

Will email you now Cazza, I should have some pics for you to see.

The views were lovely from there, they had the tables under a canopy type thing so we were shaded from the sun.

I can%26#39;t remember what they charged for setting up the tables, but it wasn%26#39;t much, I think it was the wedding co-ordinator with Libra holidays that helped arrange it once we were all there. My friend left everything until we were there to organise with the meal, and it wasn%26#39;t rushed or anything so don%26#39;t be panicking if you have to wait until you arrive.

Sent you an e-mail.

I have been to Protaras for the last ten years, staying in both the Rising and Golden Star and have eaten in a lot of restaurants in Protaras and beleive it or not one of the best is the Nissiotis Beach Bar/Restaurant which is next door to the Rising Star. It doesn%26#39;t look much to look at but the view is fantastic as is the food.
