Ayia Napa in May

Hi Guys

My boyfriend %26amp; I will be staying in Nissi bay in May (so excited!!!) and was just looking for a little bit of info.

Any recommendations of places to visit e.g restaurant, sights or attractions?

Excursions - We%26#39;d love to go out on a boat trip - I%26#39;ve been told you can go on an outing and see the dolphins etc - Does any one know if this is still available/how much it would cost?

What will the weather be like... I have been checking daily and the temperature is looking hopeful :)

I know it will be a bit chilly in the evenings, but will it be sunbathing (tanning) weather? lol

Does anyone know how far Cape Greco is from Nissi beach, and is this worth a visit..? I%26#39;ve heard its stunning.

Any info would be fab.

Thanks alot guys

Early May weather can still be a bit changeable but still lovely sunbathing weather. Nice part of the year because the beaches are not packed - Nissi Beach lovely. Evenings cooler at the beginning of May but warm up by the end. Cape Greko is approx 15 minutes from Ayia Napa - you will need a car or a scooter to get there and explore. Loads of boat trips which will take you off the coast of Famagusta and then down to Cape Greko for swimming and snorkelling - water is beautifully clear. They may advertise dolphin trips but I have never yet seen a dolphin in Cyprus. Can%26#39;t help with restaurants as I stay in Pernera but I%26#39;m sure someone will come along and recommend some. A good excursion is a 4 x 4 safari trip into the Troodos mountains - takes you off road so you get to see sights only a mountain goat would normally see - wonderful day out. Superb water park at Ayia Napa and loads of things to do. Red bus tour which picks up in Ayia Napa and takes you round the surrounding villages and up to the %26quot;green line%26quot; so you can look into the occupied north.

Enjoy

Thanks alot!

Do you have any idea how much the 4x4 trip was?

or any other trip for that matter e.g. the snorkelling.

Will definitely be visiting the waterpark and beaches - heard really good review.

Cant wait! Thanks alot.

Cape Greko is a stunning place, no doubt about that!

The snorkeling is fine. The waters are clear and there are lots of things to see. Different plant life, fishes, rocks etc etc etc. If you are a qualified diver, I recommend that you visit the Zenobia wreck. It%26#39;s fantastic.

Dolphins.. a total rarity. It is not a Cypriot thing at all. You have better luck spotting them on the way to Capri Island, Italy or in Florida!

Try the Gardens Restaurant,by Nissi Beach.

Pepper Steak,flambe,delicious

From memory the 4 x 4 safari a couple of years ago was 28CYP - not sure now what it will be in euros but it is well worth doing. Note however it is a very tiring trip and you will sleep like a baby when you get back. Converted landrovers seating up to 10 and they really take you off road into the heart of the Troodos mountains. Price includes a meze lunch with wine and trips to local villages and the Kykkos monastery. Ours took us to the top of Mount Olympus where you could view both the northern and southern coastline. Stunning is the only word for it.

Amazng! Thanks alot.

How did you go about booking these trips, because i%26#39;ve heard the holiday reps whack a load of commision on top...? not sure how true this...?

Looking forward to it.

Thanks again

There are plenty of booking offices or your hotel will be able to advise. Don%26#39;t book through your rep - far too expensive.

Have been going to Ayia napa in May for 20 years - weather good - tanning good. Can have an odd cloudy day but not for long.

Makros restaurant at the harbour - very good. Cape greco @ 10 miles but stunning views.
