I want to go to Cyprus - but which city should I go to?

Hi everyone,

Myself and my girlfriend are looking to go to Cyprus but never having gone there before we%26#39;re not sure which destination to choose.

We are both 24 and ideally are looking for somewhere that has a beach, a bit of nightlife and nice restaurants and some of hustle and bustle.

Wondered if anyone could give any advice?

Cheers,

Luke

Protaras or Ayia Napa may suit. Lovely beaches and plenty of nightlife

Hi Luke,

Sounds like that paphos is the ideal place for you.

Paphos has a bit of history, lots of restaurants, some hustle and bustle depending where you are, plenty of beaches to choose and it is a very pretty town.

ayia napa is mostly clubbing and not that many restaurants to choose from. It consists mostly of two main roads, one of which leads into the town centre and the second leads from the fishing harbour up to the clubbing square.

Limassol and Larnaca are really cosmopolitan towns and not a lot of beaches to choose from. Not at all that attractive either as much as paphos is.

Nicosia is a very historical town and mostly a financial city and the hub bub of Cyprus. You will want to come here one day to cross over into the occupied parts. Just bring your passport and go for the day.

Protaras has beaches, restaurants and a bit of nightlife but Paphos has more. protaras is quieter.

I am 25 myself. Paphos will propbably suit you better.

have a good holiday!

If you want a cosmopolitan area with a good mix of everything Limassol has it all. There is a tourist area but in the main it does not rely on tourists for it%26#39;s main income. Other areas apart from Nicosia rely on the tourist market, hence it is set up for the tourist market.

Beaches in Limassol are clean, genrally quiet and very safe to swim, good nightlife all over the town with a great mix of all nationalities, shopping is some of the best on the island. You will also find it slightly cheaper than the resorts that cater just for the tourist.

I would have said Ayia Napa has excellent restaurants and plenty of choice from Thai, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Italian, etc..

I would recommend either Napa Plaza or Napa Mermaid in Ayia Napa or Paphos.. Enjoy :)

For your age, I%26#39;d say Ayia Napa, too.
