Moving to Limassol

My family is moving to Limassol this summer. I need to know if/where there is an american school that my 10 yr old son can attend.

Hi Angela, here is the list from the ministry of education webpage for private primary schools (up to the age of 12) in Limassol that the main language is English.

FOLEY%26#39;S JUNIOR SCHOOL

ST. MARY%26#39;S SCHOOL

THE EDUCATION AMERICAN ACADEMY JUNIOR SCHOOL

THE HERITAGE SCHOOL

THE LOGOS SCHOOL OF ENGLISH

THE PRIVATE ENGLISH JUNIOR SCHOOL

If you have some more criteria to fulfill, maybe Leica can enlighten us on what some of these schools have to offer, or their ´reputation´.

Foleys, excellent reputation, always achieves top end results.

Heritage, just outside Limassol, excellent facilities one of the nicest settings in the whole of Cyprus.

Thanks for the information. Can you tell me about Akrotiri, and which school would be closer/better for my 10 yr old. We want to live near the AFB...do you know that area? Thanks for your help.

When you say AFB, do you mean the base ? If so, your child maybe allowed to attend the forces school at Akrotiri or Episkopi. I believe if you are on secondment to the British Forces you are entitled to a place, if not it is always worth a telephone call.

Akrotiri itself is small, quiet but it has all you need in the area. Limassol is not far away (10 minutes). Foleys is a very good school, situated centrally in a residential area, good mix of all nationalties.

The base school for secondary age children would be St. Johnns at Episkopi and the children from Akrotiri are taken there by bus. For Juniors they have a school at Akrotiri.

Plenty of activities for children on the base but I believe you are not in the forces. You could still apply for a place but you would need to live in the Erimi, Episkopi area.

Good luck with your move. I lived there for 15 years and it is still %26quot;Home%26quot; to me if the saying %26quot;Home is where the heart is%26quot; is true.
