Cyprus! Where to go???

Hi - Husband likes to relax, not talk and read his book in the sun! 14 year old daughter needs a shared pool and the chance to meet people!! I like a little of both!...sef catering accom needed of GOOD quality on a medium style complex, without evening disco blaring type stuff,,walkable distance to local restaurants serving local food. No PUBS or fish and chips!!...anything out there which is not too English - trying to get away from the place!

Try taking a look a mimosa beach hotel/apts

has some reviews on this site, or they have there own site.i am looking to go there my self - i think this place looks pretty good. check it out and let me know what you think.

try the vangelis apartments in protaras

I highly recomend the Domniki which is in the Pernera district which is lovely nice restaurants not as noisy as Protaras you just walk along to Protaras where there is loads of pubs etc.We loved the Domniki that much we have booked to go back in September the staff are so friendly and helpful great meals there the atmosphere is great the location is to die for the beach is just yards away.Cant wait to go back.

Domniki in Pernera definitely. Pernera is a surburb of Protaras and whilst aimed at the tourist is not so much in your face as Protaras. Right on the sea front, lovely views, family run - nice pool, lovely tavernas nearby. All self catering accomodation is much of the same quality. Unfortunately unless you decamp to the Troodos mountains you will find English style tourism everywhere - its what we have demanded in the past. If you hire a car you can get out and about to discover the little villages and traditional tavernas. Liopetri, which is approximately 20 minutes from Protaras/Pernera has a wonderful beach which is largely undiscovered and some amazing seafood tavernas, fish straight out of the sea onto your plate. The Livas Apartments just up the road from The Domniki are also very nice as are The Toxotis apartments but to be honest wherever you stay you are likely to have your ear drums assaulted by karaoke at least once a week but if you are lucky you will get a traditional Cypriot night and BBQ which is much more fun.

I recommend the Brilliant Hotel/apartments, no noisy disco, but within easy reach of all restaurants etc, peaceful, not overly child friendly, but good for teenagers. Nice pool and bar, in excellent position. Basic roomy accommodation, clean, and has a loyal customer base who return year after year.

pernera or Kapparis are much quieter than protaras, sunny coast at kapparis is nice and has a pool in the middle of the complex. there is a pub but it is on the front away from the main accomodation area.

best restaurants in kapparis are Glikocarama (twilight) last one in village on right george and helen are lovely. for fish Kara%26#39;s is the best they catch all their own fish.

Hi I agree Kapparis is a great place everything you need there without being too full on. If you would like home from home there are some great apartments for rent on www.ownersdirect.co.uk. most have pools and being privately owned are nice and quiet during the day.
