Riu Cypria

Hi, I have booked to stay in the Riu Cypria Resort in June. Has anyone been recently and got any info? Also what is the dress code for the restaurant in the evening? I%26#39;d be grateful for any feedback.

Hi,

It is a really nice hotel. Its interior design is very nice and a bit different from other hotels.

Right next to the beach also. You can walk from the beach all the way to the harbour! :D

The dress is smart casual. Casual is also acceptable.

Hi, myself and my husand have stayed at the Riu Cypria Resort for the last three years in June. We have stayed at both the Bay and Maris and despite some reports on here we have always had a great time at both. You can use the facilities of either hotel. The dress code for the restaurant in the evening is smart casual but men have to wear long trousers (my husband always changes back into his shorts after dinner as it is so hot). We are also going to Paphos again in June but this time we are staying at the Aquamare Hotel next door as we got a great deal. Hope this helps and you have a great time.

Hi Annie088.

We%26#39;re going to the Aquamare for a week on 13th May, also because we got a great deal! Will let you know what it%26#39;s like.

Stayed in the Cypria Bay a few years back, and watched them building the Aquamare!

The Cypria Bay was lovely - we went before it became all-inclusive, so don%26#39;t know what it%26#39;s like now. Seems to be getting ok reviews.

Hi, thanks very much for your info. the travel agent told us that it is long trousers for the men, what i was wondering is can women get away with linen shorts for the evening meal with a smart top?

|||

Hi, Yes you will be fine if you want to wear linen shorts. It is only men that they seem to require long trousers although the first two years we went they didn%26#39;t seem to be too strict and some men did wear shorts although last year they were turning people away from the dining room if they didn%26#39;t have long trousers. Hope this helps.

Thanks alot for your help. How was the food when you stayed? We are not fussy eaters so sure we will be okay it%26#39;s just some of the reviews i%26#39;ve read have not been great. what sorts of things do they have for snacks?

|||

Hi, the food was absolutely brilliant there is so much choice that even somebody who is really fussy will find something they like. There are lots of different choices every day and they have a different theme night every night eg Greek, Italian, etc which is nice plus an amazing selection of salad. For snacks there is cakes, pizza toasted sandwiches, burgers, chips, ice creams etc. Whichever hotel you are in the food is the same. The only difference between the two hotels is the Bay is newer than the Maris. The swimming pool in the Bay I think is more suitable if you have children and the Maris better for adults. The entertainment is far better in the Bay as the Maris tends to just have a pianist in the evening. As I said before we have stayed in both and I do not have a preference as you can use the facilities of both. You just have to have dinner and breakfast in your allocated hotel.If you think of anything else just ask.

Thanks a lot you have put my mind at rest now after reading the reviews!!

We have a 7 year old daughter so are planning on going to the water park and possibly Coral Bay as i read somwhere that is the nicest beach in paphos - is this true??? Do you know if the kids club is well run/safe etc?

I think that%26#39;s about all I wanted to know unless you have any useful tips/info from your stay there.

Once again, many thanks - its nice to hear from someone who has been and get a true picture as some of the reviews are awful but saying that a lot of them sound like they are quite fussy anyway, lol!

Hi, we haven%26#39;t travelled with children as ours are now grown up so I don%26#39;t know what the water park is like. However we did go to Coral Bay one day the first year we stayed and the beaches were nice but so crowded you couldn%26#39;t move. A couple we made friends with last year went for the day but ended up getting the return bus back as it was so crowded. This was in June so maybe it will be the same. The Kids Club at the hotel was really good. They have activites throughout the day for children and adults.

After dinner in the evening they have games etc for children every night and a junior disco which finishes at approx 9pm then adult entertainment. Every time we have stayed there they have also had a parrot show one night.

Hi, I meant to add there are usually several weddings taking place during your stay at the hotel which are lovely. However it can be a bit annoying especially with the Cypriot weddings as they literally take over the whole hotel as the whole of Cyprus seems to descend and the holidaymaker gets pushed outside at night which isn%26#39;t the end of the world because it is so hot but considering what you pay for your stay it is not very fair. But this seems to be the norm at all the hotels.
