Walking Distances

Hi There

We are going to be staying in the St Georges area, if anyone has stayed here before is Coral Bay or Paphos within walking distance and if so how long does it take ?

Many Thanks

No, not walking distance, although there is a regular bus service in both directions.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know if there are any local bars or restaurants in the St George area.

This morning I parked near the St George Hotel and walked to the harbour in Paphos along the coastal walkway (got the bus back to my car tho%26#39;!) There are a couple of rough bits, but most of it is paved, and it was a lovely walk. It took me about a hour just strolling. I%26#39;m sure it wouldn%26#39;t be nearly as enjoyable if it had been any hotter.

Happy travels!

suprisingly enough there are well over a 15 - 20 bars %26amp; restauerants within walking distance and the bus%26#39;s run every 15 mins

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Why surprisingly ? Are we staying out in the sticks ? Are they mostlly Brit bars (not that we will be looking for that) or run by the locals do you know ?

Hi Leno1

If you could be more specific than %26quot;the St Georges area%26quot; I%26#39;m sure we could give you more info.

Now then Kev - I have always been led to believe that there are two St George areas. There is the one where the St George hotel is (about 3/4 of the way from Paphos to Coral Bay) then there is the little one further on from Coral Bay (Agios Giorgios).

How do you distinguish between the two?

Hi Pat

Thanks for the reply, can%26#39;t really be more specific at the mo as don%26#39;t have full address as yet ! I do know its in the St George area, Sea Caves if that helps.

The reason I ask about bars locally is that my poor husband always does the driving (his choice) and it would be good for us to walk to a bar for a change.

Hi Julie

I presumed (and you know what that does lol) I took it as St George%26#39;s Hotel Chloraka. St George area by the Sea Caves is the furthest part away from paphos and Coral bay.

There are quite a few Restaurants and bars notably some very good ones in fact, not far from Viklari and Coral bay / Peyia

Coral Bay is about 5 minutes by car south of the St Georges Sea Caves area.

Paphos is about 20 minutes by car south of Sea Caves area.

Walking distances.. much longer. About an hour with a good brisk walk. You will need a mode of transport to get back if you are tired.
