Can anyone advise on a good reliable car hire company in Paphos with resonable rates travelling to paphos in July for the first time.

Hi,

If you don%26#39;t hire until you get there, there are quite a few local companies about the town and you can bargain for a good price.

Try the web. We went with car hire 3000. They weren%26#39;t quite the cheapest but there were no hidden extras and they didn%26#39;t charge for an additional driver. When we got the car it actually came from Budget (who had quoted me nearly twice the price on line!!). Car and service were great. It%26#39;s useful to compare prices on the web before you go so if you decide to hire one %26quot;off the street%26quot; you have an idea of prices. Beware of the signs on the street, %26quot;car hire 10 euros a day, as there are nearly always add ons, like CDW, delivery depending on where you collect it from etc. Also watch out that your excess isn%26#39;t sky high....500 euros isn%26#39;t uncommon and when you think that most people pay between £100 and £200 excess over here on their own car insurance, it%26#39;s a lot of money to pay if something does happen. You can of course purchase excess waiver for a small fee which covers this too....whatever scam will they come up with next to deprive us of our hard earned cash!!!!

Also, don%26#39;t know if you have kids, we do. Don%26#39;t pay for child booster seats as they charge about £4 per seat per day. We got two £3 booster seats from Netto, wrapped them and put them in the hold of the aircraft, used them in the taxi from the airport and in the hire car and then left them when we came home. This saved us about £160 over the three week period that we hired the car.

Anyway hope this helps, if you want further advice, just yell!!

We always use easyrentacar (based in Paphos not associated with easyjet). However when we travelled in March we used www.economycarrentals.com After a few teething problems, they wanted to give us a car with an abs warning light on and an engine management light on! we changed cars and everything was fine. We are returning in a weeks time so we got a quote from them and they are 50 euros dearer this time than easyrentacar for the same model car. So make sure you shop around.
