Peyia July/Aug 09

Thinking of renting an apartment here for 2 weeks this summer. We are a family of 4 (2 kids aged 17 and 14) Any advice on the area please?

quite a few bars and Restaurants but ideally you would need a car, not much fun walking up that hill every day, very close by car to Coral bay where a multitude of bars and restaurants available. Peyia is also about 10 mins away from a quaint little village called kathikus and about another 10 mins further on from Latchi and Polis

With children of those ages, I assume you%26#39;ll be here in the school holidays. It will be very, very hot and Peyia wouldn%26#39;t be my choice due to the fact that you will need to drive most places, including the beach.

Happy travels

Hiya Lesley,

Peyia is a lovely little village that is expanding into a small town set in the hills.

If your apartment is low down, it would be a walkable distance to Coral Bay, however, the main roads up to Peyia has no footpath, not lit and cars / lorries do drive fast and eractically. People have been killed walking on this road.

However, if you have a car and an elevated location you will be spoilt with some of the views.

Maybe Coral Bay, Chlorakas or areas within Paphos may be better suited if you prefer to walk into the main tourist strips and beaches.

The buses run extensively along the coast road but are less frequent up to Peyia.

Peyia does have several bars and restaurants but you would need to venture to Coral Bay %26amp; Paphos if staying for two weeks.

Good Luck

Thanks everyone for your replies.

We have now booked an apt in Peyia, but will definitely be hiring a car for our 2 weeks.

Anyone know of a good, cheap car hire firm?

Thanks again

Lesley.
