Understanding the border

Hi Guys,

We%26#39;re due to travel out to Argaka at the end of the week - and can%26#39;t wait! :) The only part that%26#39;s kinda confusing me at the moment is the North / South devide.

Am I right in thinking the border is quite close to Argaka ?

From reading varuous websites and getting mixed information... am I right in thinking you can take a hire car / bike over but have to pay at the kiosks (25 euros ?) prior to crossing over ?

Any advice more than welcome.

Thanks,

Paul.

AlphaCrust, the Green Line (%26quot;border%26quot;) is not too far from Argaka village, it%26#39;s just west of Kato Pyrgos village. What may be confusing, is that to cross over to the North, you need to go thru a checkpoint and, I%26#39;m sorry to tell you, that the nearest one for you, will be in Nicosia!

To take any car or motorcycle to the North you%26#39;ll need new insurance cover just for the North. That%26#39;s what the 25 euro are for (though I%26#39;m not sure if the figure is correct).

Sorry, East of Kato Pyrgos.

That kinda confirms what I thought.

As a group we%26#39;ll most likely explore most of the South part of the island then look at travelling over to the North towards the end of the second week. - Although if we pay for the full month I guess we can come and go as we please.

Thanks for the info.

Paul.
