Aloe Hotel

1st time to Paphos have lots of questions, read some reviews and am worried its too rowdy and noisy for us and 5yr old son, we like to have a wander round on a night and have a few quiet drinks in chilled out bars/cafes suitable for little one, are there any in Paphos or is it all nightclub discos and pubs for youngsters? or should we just avoid Bar Street. Staying at the Aloe Hotel for 2 weeks are we near all amenities, harbour, shops, restaurants etc and are there plenty cashpoints as we normally take cards and get out cash as we need it, or should we take english currency and change out there? Any other advice or info would be much appreciated.

THANKS ALL

Walcome to the forum Nic.

You%26#39;ve made a good choice for a family holiday Nic. I have been taking my children since they were babies and have never found it to be too rowdy or noisy.

Although Bar Street is just a small part of what Paphos has to offer in terms of eating and drinking, you can choose to avoid it if you don%26#39;t fancy it but there really is no need to.

I have always been happy to walk down there with my children and have never felt as if we shouldn%26#39;t really be there. YOu will see straight away which bars are suitable for you as a family and which aren%26#39;t.

The Aloe is in a very good location. We have stayed there and the pools are lovely, as are the grounds. When you leave the Aloe you can turn left towards the %26quot;triangle%26quot; area and the hotels and bars beyond or you can turn right and head towards the harbour area. It is a nice little stroll in both directions with lots of places to stop off on the way. Our son was about 3 when we stayed there and the staff made a great fuss of him.

Don%26#39;t worry about taking everything in cash. There are a few banks in Paphos where you can withdraw from the ATMs.

There is a beach right across from the Aloe and the water park is just past the triangle (no more than 5 minutes in a taxi). Although it is quite expensive, there is a lovely children%26#39;s area with slides, water bubble, pirate ship etc. Your little one will probably love it if he likes the water.

If there is anything at all you want to know, please ask away. There are lots of people on here who will be only too happy to help.
