Cyprus in May

My boyfriend and I are thinking about a holiday in Southern Cyprus at the beginning of May. What is the weather like at that time? Is it warm enough to sunbathe and swim in the sea?

Nice time to go:- Daytime temps in 60%26#39;s + - warmer at end of month. But I think you%26#39;d have to be a bit hardy to spend too long in the sea.

However, it is said that you can ski in the mountains in the mornings and swim in the sea in the afternoons, though the closest beaches (Limassol area) to the mountains are not the best!

Have a good time!

Hi Sarah,

I agree with the earlier response. We went a few years back at the end of April. Braved the sea on one day only. Can be a bit breezy as well, making it too cool to sunbathe. The biggest surprise was how cold the pool was. Most outdoor hotel pools in Cyprus are not heated, and the indoor ones are small.

Still had a wonderful week. We have been to Cyprus 7 times now. Recommend Aneas Hotel, and Adams Beach at Nissi Beach, near Aiya Napa, Coral Beach near Paphos. Ascos Coral Beach is also good, but avoid their sea shore rooms if you dont like insect life.

I swim in the sea any time of the year!

Any one Know when the Viklari opens? Will it be open in May?

Yes it should be

Beginning of May is OK for exploring - weather can still be a bit unpredicable, end of May is more suitable for sunbathing and swimming.
