Hello Mrs N,

Congratulations! - you sound as if you had a wonderful time.

I am getting married at Geroskipou in seven weeks time and am so excited. Was it as lovely there as you imagined? did you play your own music?

Where did you hold your wedding reception?

Thanks

hello both,

I went though a lady called \hilary she run%26#39;s her own wedding co-ordinator business and she was fantastic!

The Geriskipou was better than we had hoped, and as we got married at 5pm there was a gentle breeze under the big canopy!

You%26#39;ll love it i promise!

We did play our own music, as long as its on cd you%26#39;ll be ok, you have to provide the cd when you go to get your marriage licence at the town hall, we had the candlelight version of Everytime we touch by Cascada! Was perfect!

We had our reception at a place called Atlantida beach taverna its a 5 min drive from the Geriskipou and its on the beach its amazing! specially at night!

Need any more info or pics email me on lindsey.derry@hotmail.co.uk

I really dont mind helping, makes me feel all happy when thinking of it!

hi there i`m sooooooo excited i`m flying out to paphos in4 days and getting married at geroskipou town hall in 10! i`m getting married at 5pm and hoping it will be a little cooler but i think i`m just kidding myself! thats my biggest worry is how hot its gonna be, any tips for staying cool? is there any steps to walk down or up ? as i have quite a full dress .how long does the ceremony last and is it like in the uk? sorry for all the questions but i wanna know everything! anything you can think of that will help ? thanks kirsten x

Hello Kirsten,

Ah wow, im so jealous really miss being there!

Right we also got married at 5pm, and believe it or not it is a little cooler specially at Geriskipou as you get married under a big canopy! ,

The ceremony last around 10 mins, it goes so fast, but ite%26#39;%26#39;s really really lovely! Will make you feel like a princess!

There are 2 lot%26#39;s of steps, 1 set is really high up and i got advised not to go down them as when you walk towards your h2b you%26#39;ll be looking down! so i went for the other set, there is still about 10 steps, but they aren%26#39;t steep and i had a long train and i still managed ok!

You won%26#39;t even compare the wedding to anything like you get at home, its much more relaxed and romantic!

You%26#39;ll have the time of your life%26#39;s just enjoy it!

If you want to see our pics email me on

and i%26#39;ll send you our%26#39;s!!

Good Luck

Hi Mrs N

My partener and I have just started looking at getting married in Cyprus. We want to use a company called Medweds as they have been excellent with all our queries.

At the moment we have looked on their website at Peyia Town Hall and Geroskipou. We are swaying towards the latter but I wanted to check (being completely new to Cyprus), are you able to tell from the photos on the medwedsltd site as to whether the location detailed is actually Geroskipou is the same as Yeroskipou/Geriskipou town hall. It is difficult as sometime they spell the same place differently on different sites.

Could you let us know if it is near the sea as we would like photos on the beach? Any info or photos would be great.

We are booking a villa in the Coral Bay area so accomodation is not a problem.

Thanks.

Hi GabDunc

From my exrerience although Yereskipou is nice I think your best option is Peyia Town Hall

1) It is a lot nicer then Yereskipou %26amp; it is more covered with tree%26#39;s which can shade you from the Sun

2) it is closer to where you are staying

Hey,

Thanks Kev but i totally disagree with your comment, we had the most amazing wedding and i wouldnt have changed a thing!

With regards to the name it is the same place in Paphos they spell it with a Y!

I have pics if you would like me to show you them! Also we used a wedding co-ordinator called Hilary she%26#39;s fantastic and really made it a special day!

Yeriskipou is not on the beach but we had our reception on Avanti beach in the Atlantida beach taverna (fish res) and the pics are stunning, we paid extra for sunset shots and the beach is only a 5 min drive from Yeriskipou! Please dont be put of by this i promise it really is fantastic!!

Don%26#39;t hesitate to contact me to see my pics and ask any questions!

Good luck xxx

Thanks to you both. Mrs N it would be great to see some photos if that%26#39;s ok. We are going in Oct. Do you think the weather will be ok.

We are looking at Cyprus Dream Weddings and Medweds at the moment. Really hard to choose as both have great packages to offer. Did you have a package or did you do your own package? What time did you get married?

Our email is www.duncanballbag@aol.com if you wanted to send the pics direct.

Looking forward to seeing them.
