If beaches are most important to you then, the east of the island napa or protaras

Protaras/Pernera/Ayia Napa on the eastern side of the island would possibly appeal to you particularly as you have girls of 13 and 17. Beautiful beaches and plenty to do. Protaras does not have the historical artifacts that Paphos has and is a purpose built holiday resort but there is plenty to do for 13 and 17 year olds. It is difficult to recommend a particular hotel because everyones%26#39; interests and requirements are different but regular forum users will know I have suggested a particular hotel before, The Domniki in Pernera. I must make it clear I have absolutely no connections whatsoever with this hotel and don%26#39;t stay there myself but I have friends and aquaintances who do on a regular basis and I have of course visited the hotel. I have to say it is in an ideal situation directly onto the beach. Family run so more personal that the larger hotels. If you look on The Olympic web site you should find it located there but to get the best advantage of the hotel you would need to have a sea view. Certainly if I weren%26#39;t set in my ways I would use this hotel. Another very nice little hotel in Pernera is The Anais Bay, again this is only a 100 yards or so to a lovely bay and close to all restaurants.

Be aware August is so hot it is very difficult to do much other than laze on the beach or in the pool. Temperatures vary very little between day and night and air conditioning is an absolute must wherever you stay.

I would suggest hiring a car for at least part of your holiday so you can explore the surrounding countryside and discover the quiet little bays.
