Electrical Goods Cyprus

Hi,

I%26#39;m travelling to Cyprus shortly to furnish a family member%26#39;s apartment - does anyone know the best way of buying large electrical goods? We have been quoted the equivalent of £500 for a LCD tv by a firm called Dalco, so have looked into shipping one from UK as it%26#39;s so pricey. Would appreciate it if anyone has experience of buying similar items any cheaper in Cyprus?

Thanks, Laura

The most popular electric appliances shops in Cyprus are Scandia, Electroline, Megaelectric, Hadjikyriakos, Andreas Charalambous, Emilios Eliades. These are chains so they have shops in all towns. They sell several brands of electric appliances. They always have some old models on offer so you will be able to find something that fits your taste. Now about your budget I %26#39;m not so sure mostly because of the terrible exchange rate of the pound (expect around 1.07 euros per pound). Now for lcd tvs you can always use www.pixmania.com.cy. Have tried it twice for tvs and it%26#39;s reliable, however they don%26#39;t have larger appliances (eg dishwasher) because of problems in shipping.

Well you went to the cheapest first. You would be hard pushed to find any electrical retailer on the island cheaper than Dalco (imo).

To be honest Cyprus is very expensive for anything electrical, if I want anything expensive I buy it in the UK and have it shipped.

Saying all the above, if you are looking to buy a few items, have a haggle but keep away from the main chain stores. Limassol is a good place to start.

Leica is giving you good advice I strongly urge you to take it
