wedding reception in Paphos

Hi can anyone think of somewhere for my wedding reception, i have prices for Atlantida and Ficardos, but i%26#39;m not convinced they are what i want! can anyone think of somewhere very near or on the beach or with gardens for the children to play. we have 22 people in total.

There are loads of nice places but like everything else you will not be able to tick all your requirements, they just do not exist. Your best policy especially with children would be having the wedding reception at a hotel as they have area%26#39;s for the kids to play. It could also work out cheaper to have the wedding at the hotel as the food will be nice %26amp; well presented.

If you need any other advice drop me an e-mail

Hallo Stressed!

We had people staying with us this year who used the Doria restaurant for their reception. Their comments were as below. We haven%26#39;t been ourselves so cannot comment personally.

%26quot;Panikos Panayiotou

Doria Beach Restaurant

Next to Cynthiana Hotel

KissonergaVillage- Paphos

Tel: +357 26 944092

Fax: +357 26 221071

Mob: +357 99 489790

E-mail: doriarest@cytanet.com.cy

They usually close at lunchtime I believe, but opened for us... Panikos was extremely helpful - telephoned me at home when I mailed him for enquiries. All staff were lovely, food delicious. We had the meze.

I certainly would recommend it, for anyone who wants a quiet location. It was very private and ideal for us - we had the restuarant to ourselves. Lovely sea breeze coming in and whole restaurant was shaded.%26quot;

I hope this helps. As the previous post said; nowhere is perfect in all ways and suits everyone%26#39;s taste.

Atlantida would be fine for what you want. There is a huge bit of grass inbetween the bar restaurant area, and the beach, of course depending on the time of year there maybe sunbeds on the grass. Not been to Ficardos so can%26#39;t comment on there.

Might not be quite what your after, but my friends got married on the Wavedance boat. It was brilliant and a very original idea.

Hi,

I am in the same dilemma as you. We are looking for a restaurant for our reception in June 09. If you dont mind could you send me the prices for the 2 you mentioned. We are also from Lancashire, Preston.

Have a lovely wedding. Caroline

Hi

You can have your reception on a boat/yacht in the harbour if you would like something different. We have booked our wedding and reception on board a yacht there. I know the company we have booked through have different packages and can provide entertainment if needed, you can have a sailing or a non sailing package. Let me know if you need any further details and I will let you know the company we have used.

Hi Caroline

What a small world we live in, I live in Fulwood (Preston!) What date do you get married and where? We are the 3rd June and are getting hitched at Gerskipou.

We are having our reception at Atlantida i think (keep having big panicks!) There are 26 of us going and it isn%26#39;t cheap. Its costing 40euros pp for a BBQ of chicken and pork with salad, fruit and a glass of sparkly stuff! I am starting to think that this is a rip off and it better be 5* food and decoration for that!

Hi,

Atlantida is a wonder for the children... this is what the owner probably knows.

As mentioned previously, there is a large grassy garden in front of the restaurant. And after that is the beach. Probably every child%26#39;s dream.

With the bbq, you are probably going to receive a lot of bread, dips, olives and a few other meze starters.

With Ficardos, there is no garden or beach. However, the owner Nicolas is so nice. I asked how much he charges per person for a meze at a wedding function, he mentioned 20 euros per head. I had a look in his booking diary. He seems to be full up in April!

As you go in, there are candles along the entrance. You are in a paved but garden covered area. And then there is another entrance into the retsaurant itself. Outside there is a kind of patio, which is closed off meaning this is good for wedding functions. Nicolas said that he usually has the whole place covered with decorations, balloons etc etc.

There are pros and cons. Atlantida is wonderful for children. I forgot to mention that there is a luna park (very quiet though) behind the rstaurant. Again great for childrne.

Ficardos is smaller, no sea or beach but it is cheaper. Very friendly owner.
