protaras places to eat

hi going to protaras on 22.4.09 where is cgheapest places to eat also what is brilliant apts like and what are the best trips to go on, is there a large supermarket and how much is car hire roughly

|||

brilliant apts are on the %26#39;%26#39;top road%26#39;%26#39; of protaras but there is a pathway down to the main drag %26#39;%26#39;main street%26#39;%26#39; only takes a couple of minutes to get to the beach and shops, bars and restaurants

all restaurants offer good choice of menu and vary in price most have set menus and tonights specials

one we liked is isalnd affair 3 course set menus plus tonoghts specials with decent choice

car hire varies depending on number of days and size of vehicle and there are plenty of car hire places to check out. there is a supermarket in paralimni which is the nearest residential town to protaras

we have been four times to the Brilliant, we love it, the location is great set a little bit back from the strip, but you just take the purpose built path down to it. Th apartments are huge, basic but very clean and the pool area is lovely as is the pool snack area. Cheap places to eat are Friends bar, any snack type bar along the srip, its the restuarants which cost moor. The Brilliant do excellent food at good prices. Romeos is worth a look on Greek night you pay a reasonable amount and get a meze and entertainment all night it%26#39;s great. If you go out of the front main doors of the hotel, turn left and keep walking for a couple of minutes you will find Georges supermarket which is great for papers, basic food and toiletries, or there are plenty of supermarkets along the strip. I%26#39;m so jealous, you will have a great time!

thanks for info cant wait just that everyone is telling me its very expensive

Hi loz

we have just returned from a week at the brilliant, the appartments are clean and the staff are friendly it has a very nice pool and outdoor area, its only 5 mins walk down to the main street, where you will find lots of bars and places to eat, we found cheers to be good value, but expect to pay around 7 euros upwards for meals, breakfasts are the cheapest meals you can get full english for around 3 euros but a soft drink or a cuppa will cost 2 euros, we did not hire a car so i can%26#39;t help you on that one but i am sure you will have a great time there

Go down the strip from the macdonalds end and its roughly half way down ish on the right hand side, had many a night in there, try one of the pancakes cooked fresh at the side of the bar

|||

getting me feeling hungry thinking about those pancakes. thanks for info

|||

There is also a lovely bakery on the main strip, doinf fresh bread, salads, cakes

Haven%26#39;t been to Protaras for a few years but we always went to the Anatolia restaurant 2 or 3 times each fortnight.Great set menus at various prices and quick efficient service if you just want to get fed without sitting for ages between courses.It%26#39;s on the same road as the Brilliant,head for the strip but don%26#39;t turn down at McDonalds go straight on for a couple of hundred yards.Things might have changed since we were there last but it was always full.
