Ayios Elias Church, Protaras

Can someone tell me where the church on top of the hill Ayios Elias is in protarus, how do you get to it from the town is it easy to get to. l%26#39;ve heard alot about this church and the views you can get and would like to visit the place when l go there in june.....any more interesting places to see/visit would be of great help.

Ray the only way to get to Ayiou Elias is on foot. It is a steep climb up, lots of steps. The way up is sign posted. It is found on the road between Protaras and Pernera. Easily walkable from either place.

You really can%26#39;t miss the Church - its a key focal point - looks beautiful when lit up at night. Long way up on foot, go early morning as it will be very hot during the day. Stunning views from the top though.

If you are hiring a car go to Konnos Bay midway between Protaras and Ayia Napa - lovely bay. Troodos mountains are well worth a visit particularly on a 4 x 4 safari which can be booked anywhere in Protaras. Trip to the Famagusta view point in Derynia. Paralimni is a lovely little town worth a visit, any boat trip is worth doing. There was a new trip started last year - The Red Bus tour -coverted London bus which takes you round the villages and up to the %26quot;green line%26quot; where you can view the occupied North. I am told this trip can now take you to Famagusta town itself but I won%26#39;t be able to confirm that until I go end of May.

Cant miss it,its gorgeous,if you have a relative who has died you can leave a message to them on the tree behind the church, write it on a ribbon before you go and tie it to the tree when you get there,I do it every time I go for my mum.
